Hina-arare is sold in stores now,but in the past,it used to be made at home.
It was made by drying rice until it was crispy. Leftover rice in the kitchen
was not wasted. The dried rice was saved in order to cook and eat during
hard time when there wasnft enough food. Since it takes 88 days that
farmers work hard and produce rice, we shouldnft waste even grain.
