Hina-matsuri is a celebration for girls,
and “Tango
no Sekku”is
the celebration for boys.
It takes place on May 5 every year.
This is also called “Shobu no Sekku”
because we pray for
good health by using shobu (Iris) leaves or roots.
It is
said on this day that
bathing in water with shobu and
yomogi (Mugwort) in it will keep us from getting sick.
